
When the Canadian rapper told the world that Tha Carter V would hit shelves on May 5, many folks started saving their pennies. The Inquisitr previously reported that Drake revealed the release date for the Lil Wayne album during a concert back in February. Unfortunately, no one seems to know when it will finally arrive.

According to the folks over at MTV News, that date was recently pushed aside. The song was certified platinum in February after it sold over one million copies. No official release date has been announced yet for "Tha Carter V," but it sounds like that day could be getting closer.Lil Wayne fans will have to wait a while longer for his latest album to hit store shelves.Īlthough the rapper originally planned to drop his long-awaited record Tha Carter V on the masses this May, apparently that's no longer the case. In May 2014, Lil Wayne released the lead single off "Tha Carter V" called "Believe Me," which features Drake. In January he released a mixtape called "Sorry 4 The Wait 2," and on July 4, he put out a new album on Tidal called "Free Weezy Album." Both releases were put out to compensate for the delay of "Tha Carter V."

He also claimed the label and co-founder Birdman owe him over $10 million for the delay on "Tha Carter V."ĭespite the delay, the 32-year-old has kept himself busy and has done his best to get new music in the hands of fans.

The "Got Money" rapper filed a lawsuit in January for $51 million and to be released from Cash Money Records, according to MTV News. He apologized to fans and later said he wanted off the label and that he and his creativity were prisoners. However, in December Lil Wayne sent out a series of Tweets saying his label Cash Money Records was refusing to put out his new album. "Tha Carter V" was originally supposed to come out on October 28, 2014, according to Spin.
